An Origin Story
MY WHY
When I was young, I lacked connection with extended family, as well as growing up as an only child in a single parent house. So unfortunately a lot of my earlier social development came from media; ABC Family, Disney Channel, and MTV. And with that I took on the common social aspirations that came with it -education and career goals. And by 25 I had achieved my goals of a degree and a financially successful job. However, my cravings for social relationships, especially one that included a family, wasn't fulfilled. Partly because it just wasn't what I was taught.
SOLUTION
I searched for a mentor. I started where I knew best, other career minded women. Their responses surprised me; in general, they didn't have anyone to support them and they were alone. While this lifestyle worked for them, this was not a future I was actually looking for. The mentors I then started looking for were "feminine friends."
THE PRACTICE
I needed to put myself out there and put into practice what I was learning. I got back into the pageant world and dived into it's feminine resources. I got back into the dating market to look for a lifetime partner with likeminded goals and faith. And lastly, I started a podcast to bring the mentors to me and create a resource for other women who maybe in the same place as I was. I'm still working through this journey, please join me as I learn more about how to start, build, and care for a family.
